“At night, I always believe in going for the gold.”

GOLD GOWN WITH PAILLETTE HAND EMBROIDERY

This gold gown debuted on the Fall 2000 runway, worn by Liisa Winkler. Its slender, body-skimming silhouette is hand-embroidered with glittering paillettes from its turtleneck to its long sleeves and floor-grazing hemline. Michael says, “I’ve always believed that you can be covered up and still look feminine and romantic. A little mystery is always intriguing.” Liisa was a dancer in her youth and her graceful walk emphasized the gown’s elegant, fluid movement with every step. On the Fall 2021 runway, the gown was worn by American model Ugbad Abdi underneath a full-length camel melton opera coat lined in gold sequins that underscores its glamorous attitude.
